The Herd Eating Old Produce
We currently have four does at Deer Path Farm, FireFly ( a pedigreed Lamancha Doe), Suzie (a mixed breed dairy), Treasure (a pedigreed Toggenburg), Clover ( Treasure's kid and my old doe Jazzy grand kid a mix of Toggenburg, Alpine, Nubian, and Lamancha). All of our Does are currently bred to our purebred Lamancha buck, Jasper. Jasper is currently being used by another farmer to breed their does. I will post more about each goat in the future.

  1. Hey Isaiah! That is cool that your goats get the leftover produce. I'm assuming you get to bring it home from work, a little bonus perhaps?

The guy we got our goats from would get the old bread that the vendors pulled from the shelves and feed it to his goats. I don't know if that would be possible for you to do but I found it very interesting, considering they were just throwing the bread away anyway! It might be something to look into anyway.

  3. Yeah I get the old produce sometimes they love it when i do. As for bread not a huge fan of feeding bread to them once in awhile is ok but they get to fat if fed it all the time

  5. Isaiah, it's nice to see pictures of your goats. Do you charge to breed your buck to other farmers' does? And if so, how much? I'm curious.

  6. This person gave me my first milking goat is the person using her. I think we will probably trade for some kids or a milking doe next spring
