Jasper Has been at a farm for a month breeding their four does. He came home this week.
Of course the first thing the big pig does is try to go steal the rabbits food. The does where all glad to have him back home. Especially Firefly who wouldn't shut her mouth.

As some of you may know I used to breed angelfish. I don't breed anymore but I do have a fifty five gallon tank with some nice fish in it here are some pictures of them

We have a small flock of chickens a pair of Americanas (green egglayers) I got a chicks from tractor supply. One big rooster I am not sure what breed he is probably a mix or a sex-link. We found for free on craigslist. I also have two Delaware hens they are my favorite breed of chickens having kept them for about ten years now. I used to show them. I picked these gals up from the livestock auction this summer.

Back in June we bought a pair of blue slate turkeys at the livestock auction ( one of my favorite places to go). Blue slate turkeys are a heritage breed of turkey and a very rare breed. Heritage breed turkeys can breed naturally unlike the commercial breeds the broad breasted bronze and white. They are gaining some popularity, because of their better flavor. We are hoping to get some poults from them next year. The tom has a additude and tries to attack you when you turn your back. A few years ago we raised broad breasted bronze and they were the dumbest birds I have ever raised. These blue slates are however pretty smart and fun to have around.

I Love Craigslist

I got these 14 chicks for free off of craigslist. They are supposed to be all males. I am probably going to sell them next time we go to the auction. But for right now they are at Deer Path Farm.

 

 The bucks hut

Well we piled wood high along the bucks shelter which is usually open on all sides. The does have one in there pen too but we put sides on theirs for the hurricane that came in august. A couple of the does are looking very pregnant, the first three are due in early to mid febuary. I can't wait!!
