Is Spring Pekin Around The Corner

         These two little guys joined our farm last week. I had a flock of six ducks five hens and a drake, well they could fly so the decided when the pond froze over it was time to pack it in and fly south gaaaahhhh. Still crossing my fingers they will show up next spring if not at least we will have these two little guys. Yes they are a craigslist freebie find. They sound like a pair they are about a month old. Due to the mild winter we have been having so far this guys have been able to test drive the pond and they love it. They are Pekins and wont be able to fly away ( our other ducks would fly up to our neighbors and harass his ducks which where twice the size of ours and steal there food they where like a pack) I will miss the ducks flying around but at least the pond will be graced by these guys.

Angelfly aka the Supermodel

Well they are getting bigger and cuter everyday. We disbudded them last week. February is Half Lamancha Half Toggenberg we will be selling her if you are interested. Bilbo is a huge mix his father is a purebred Lamancha his mother Clover is half Toggenberg the other half is mostly Alpine and Nubian with a bit of Lamancha he will also be for sale. It Looks like he will be a nice buck. Than there is my favorite Angelfly who I have nicknamed the Supermodel she is out of my favorite goat Firefly and she is a purebred Lamancha we plan on keeping her as one of our does. Ain't He Cute

Awesome Mom

     Our two year old doe clover had a buck kid early on Wednesday. She didnt have much milk. So we decided to put him with Firefly my eight year old Lamancha doe who had a doe kid the day before. Well like the awesome mother we know Firefly is she quickly accepted and started licking him. I just love Firefly she is such a sweet goat.

  Yesterday morning Clover had her first kid she was the last of our does that were due in February. He is Jaspers first buck kid after 7 doe kids. He looks quite a bit like Treasures doe and Smore which is not surprising because they are his aunts.

A Angel is Born

    Yesterday we welcomed Fireflies eighth kid a white doe we have named Angelica. She looks just like her mother and her older sister Tinkerfly white with a little red around the neck and along the back. Firefly is eight years old so each kid she has is precious.
          I hope you enjoy our new member of the farm but shes not the newest another kid was born this morning as soon as I get pictures I will post them

This healthy little doe was born this morning. She is Treasure's third daughter. Her father is our Lamancha buck Jasper. She continues Jaspers trend of just having doe kids. She looks quite a bit like Smore her full sister. We are now waiting on Treasure's first daughter Clover who is due within the next week or so.

Treasure our registered toggenberg doe is our first goat due to have kids this year she is due tomorrow. She is the doe that has more of a impact in our herd than any of our other does with two of her daughters in the herd her daughter Clover is due six days after her mother and than the herd queen Firefly is due. Needless to say I cant wait for the kids to come
